Roller conveyors are part of the internal transport in a company and can be used for boxes, crates and pallets, for example. EVC supplies various types of roller conveyors, including a powered variant. With powered roller conveyors, a drive is used at the end of the conveyor to make the conveyor rotate automatically. This works, for example, on the basis of belts, a chain, a toothed belt or drum motors. A roller conveyor further consists of a drive shaft, support rollers, a controller and possibly turntables. The capacity of a powered roller conveyor
Depending on the weight and speed at which you want to move goods on a roller conveyor, powered roller conveyors come in different designs. For example, the length, width and type of support rollers differ for different capacity and carrying capacity. In general, the heavier the goods are, the more powerful the drive system becomes. This also determines the speed. When transporting light goods, for example, a higher speed is possible. Safety for staff and the environment is always a priority when using a roller conveyor.
The advantages of powered roller conveyors
With long non-powered conveyors, speed can be a hazard. Goods must be braked at the end of a roller conveyor to prevent damage due to sudden braking, for example. With powered roller conveyors, this plays no role and therefore no brake rollers need to be integrated. Everything runs automatically on rollers.
Moreover, powered roller conveyors have the great advantage over non-powered ones that goods can be moved over long distances without physical effort.
This relieves personnel and speeds up the transport process because a large part is automatic.
In addition, EVC takes into account the ease of use of roller conveyors. It can happen that rollers charge statically due to a lack of conductors of the electric current. But for this, an anti-static version is possible to prevent unnecessary shocks.
